Selecting The best BicycleThe preferred mode of transport has taken an unlikely turn in recent years. Cars were the king of the road, however we can now see a growing trend in the popularity of cycling as a main method of transport. It could be down to efforts to remain green, perhaps people want to save money on high gas prices, or maybe many people just want to get in shape! Whatever the reason, there are more cyclists on the road than ever. Maybe you have been pondering purchasing a bike? If you have then there are several things you should look at when you do.
We’d be lying if we tried to tell you that fashion shouldn’t play into your choice. We all like one color or style more than another. Your new bike should reflect your favorites. Obviously, the style and fashion elements of the bicycle should not be your top priority (unless the bicycle is just for show). Excellent safety and comfort should be the first criteria met by your new bike. After finding bikes that are both safe and comfy, then you can see which ones look the best to you.
Do you need extra gadgets for your bike? If you will need to transport things with your bike, you’ll need a basket. Will you need to transport a child? Attaching a child seat is not possible for every bike, so choose wisely. If towing something behind the bike, your need will change again. Choose a bike that can support the weight of a trailer, if this is something you’ll do.
The angle of your seat (also called the saddle) is also important. There are a variety of options for tilting the bicycle seat. You might find that a perfectly address flat seat is a little uncomfortable and that you prefer to lean forward a little bit. Adjust your seat so that this is possible. You can always leave the seat in the position it is in, but you will most likely find it to be very uncomfortable to ride. You have many things to consider when getting a bicycle. Some people will need a bicycle that can stand up under a lot of wear and tear. You may simply be looking for the bike least likely to malfunction because you rely on it to get around. Price may be the biggest thing you want to consider. Research is important when purchasing anything, especially a bike. You will also want to shop around to find the best deal. If you just get the first one you find it may not be the best suited for you and could even be a bad bike.
